IN CONTROL. "The Bus Driver" has Arellano streaking in the second round of the NCAA.
Now in the heat of the second round of the 91st Season of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, Arellano University is clearly rounding into form.
Jiovani Jalalon and the Chiefs’ offense was simply unstoppable as they led from start to finish for a 97-83 triumph over the Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.
Arellano scorched the nets from the get-go and scored no less than 20 points in each quarter. By the end, 11 of 14 Chiefs contributed at least two points in their third straight victory coming from a 6-4 record.
Talking about his boys’ rise to the solo third spot, coach Jerry Codinera said in his post-game conference, “Lagi kong iniisip yung EAC na nakaisa sa Letran. So I really had my boys prepared to prevent an upset.”

Wilson Baltazar scored 11 of his 19 points in the final frame when LPU’s 10th loss in 13 games was all but certain.
