BIDING HIS TIME. Prince Eze doesn't mind working behind countryman Bright Akhuetie, but he knows that his time will come sooner than later.
With Bright Akhuetie usually doing the damage for University of Perpetual Help, fellow Nigerian reinforcement Prince Eze is often overlooked.
Despite not having as many minutes, Prince consistently trains and works out like Bright. As Eze told ABS-CBN Sports, “I train myself to be better every time. I don’t look at anybody else. I train for my own and I really try to push myself.”
Prince radiates nothing but good vibes and also keeps a very positive outlook in his stay in the country. It helps that he is surrounded by a basketball-crazy community which has showered him and his teammates with much love and support.Â
Asked to describe his experience of playing for his college, the NCAA first-time said, “Basketball here is good. Everybody is really good – the Perpetualites, the coaches, everyone. It inspires me to work hard and give them what they need.”
Coach Aric del Rosario’s practice sessions are already hard, but Prince still takes extra hours to keep improving his game. The Marketing major shared that as soon as he gets dismissed from class, he goes straight back to the gym to do his thing: practicing his shots and his so-called secret workout for defending at the rim.
Although now might not yet be his time to reap the fruits of his labor, Prince Eze believes that he will eventually.
