FIRST OF MANY? The on-court incident that led to the parking lot incident has been completely resolved by the NCAA.
While the parking lot incident between players of University of Perpetual Help and Emilio Aguinaldo College is still under investigation, the NCAA has meted out additional sanctions to the players involved in the on-court altercation that started it all.
Niko Cabiltes of the Altas and Enjerico Diego and Raymund Pascua of the Generals will all have to sit out their teams’ next games. Right when the Perpetual-EAC matchup was ending last Tuesday, the three got involved with each other and were all ejected.
As per league rules, a player who is thrown out of a game will incur an automatic one-game suspension in his team’s next assignment. The development was confirmed by commissioner Bai Cristobal.
Diego and Pascua will serve out their suspension when EAC takes on Lyceum of the Philippines University on Thursday will Cabiltes will serve out his suspension when Perpetual battles Jose Rizal University on Friday.
Cabiltes and Pascua, along with EAC’s Sidney Onwubere, later figured in an altercation at the San Juan Arena parking lot.
