BRAGGING RIGHTS. Gameday Thursday will not have any playoff implications and everything will be all for pride.
Games on Thursday at the San Juan Arena
2:00 PM – LPU (3-12) vs EAC (2-13)
4:00 PM – CSB (3-12) vs San Sebastian (5-10)
Pride is all that is at stake in the derby for bragging rights among the already eliminated teams in the NCAA 91 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
There will be no contenders or spoilers and everyone will assuredly go all out to come out on top when ninth-ranked Lyceum of the Philippines University tackles 10th-placed Emilio Aguinaldo College and seventh-ranked San Sebastian College-Recoletos battles eighth-placed College of St. Benilde.
All of the action on Thursday from the San Juan Arena will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.
At 4:00 PM, the Golden Stags will be trying to string together a third consecutive victory. On the back of Bradwyn Guinto, the Recto-based squad is coming off a huge upset of old-time rival San Beda College.
It has been quite a while since the Blazers have pulled off an upset – or any kind of win for that matter – as both their victories have come at the expense of last-place EAC. Still, Jonathan Grey remains determined to close out his collegiate career on a positive note.
In the other surely heated matchup at 2:00 PM, the Generals will be trying to move forward from another ugly incident they involved themselves in. With rotation players Enjerico Diego and Raymund Pascua both serving one-game suspensions, reinforcement Hamadou Laminou and team captain Francis Munsayac will have to work doubly hard to give their team their third win.
The Pirates haven’t been so lucky themselves as they are have only one win in the second round. Topex Robinson will look to the interior duo of Vic Nguidjol andJoseph Gabayni to power their crew to victory.
