PATINTERO O TUMBANG-PRESO. Letran coach Aldin Ayo said that the Knights and the San Beda College Red Lions will go all out against each other no matter what the contest is.
Games on Tuesday at the MOA Arena
2:00 PM – Mapua vs Arellano
4:00 PM – Letran vs San Beda
In a perfect illustration of just how competitive the 91st Season of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament has been, old-time rivals Colegio de San Juan de Letran and San Beda College need to meet one more time just to settle who between them is the one-seed and the two-seed.
On Tuesday at the MOA Arena, the Knights try to take away the top berth that has been with the Red Lions for the last nine years.
The bell rings for San Beda-Letran Round 3 at 4:00 PM and all of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.
The rivals ended the eliminations with identical 13-5 records and are both assured of a twice-to-beat advantage once the Final Four starts. However, a rubber match between them was called for after they split their meetings against each other in the preliminary rounds.
The Lions endured a late rally to claim their most recent battle, 77-73, while in the first round, the Knights rampaged all the way to a 93-80 victory.
Perhaps best describing the magnitude of their meeting this time around, Letran coach Aldin Ayo said, “We will fight them kahit patintero o tumbang preso pa yan.”
