POWERING THROUGH. Ola Adeogun has literally been the biggest reason why San Beda is the top-seed for the 10th year running.
Games on Tuesday at the MOA Arena
12:00 PM – Malayan vs Arellano
2:00 PM – Letran vs Mapua
4:00 PM – San Beda vs JRU
A week after securing their tenth straight top-seed, San Beda College needs just one more win to enter their tenth straight Finals, this time in the NCAA 91 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Standing in the way of the Red Lions on Tuesday at the MOA Arena is Jose Rizal University which has come through in six do-or-die games in a row.
The Heavy Bombers attempt to force a rubber match with the five-time defending champions starting at 4:00 PM and all of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.
San Beda clinched the one-seed and the twice-to-beat advantage courtesy of a huge win against archrival Colegio de San Juan de Letran in their most recent outing. Although Art Dela Cruz’s numbers have gone down, he hasn’t had to do much heavy lifting with Ola Adeogun back at full health and full strength.
On the other hand, JRU barged right inside the playoff picture via an amazing survival run. With Paolo Pontejos and Teytey Teodoro capably providing the fireworks, Vergel Meneses is also excited to finally see signs of life from Abdel Poutouochi who still stands as their biggest hope against Adeogun.
In Juniors action at 12:00 PM, the Malayan High School Red Robins and Arellano High School Braves duel for the right to advance into the Finals.
Waiting there is six-time defending champion San Beda High School who own a thrice-to-beat advantage after sweeping the elimination round.
