Ayaw yata nilang ganito kaayos ang buhok ko e --- Michele Gumabao
Michele Gumabao took the idiom baptism of fire to a whole new level.
Well, she was on the firing line of a wayward ball as the former De La Salle stalwart debuted with a bang – literally and figuratively -- as an analyst for the 91st NCAA women’s volleyball stepladder semifinals last Tuesday.
While being introduced by sports anchor Anton Roxas on live broadcast during their pregame spiel, a ball hit the top side of Gumabao’s head.
“Ayaw yata nilang ganito kaayos ang buhok ko,” said the Philips Gold Lady Slammers star as she kept her poise and composure.
The middle blocker even managed to joke about the incident.

But incident didn’t dampen her first day as part of ABS-CBN Sports+Action broadcast panel as Gumabao delivered a great job in calling the match between the Perpetual Help Lady Altas and College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers
The Lady Blazers eventually won the game to advance in another do-or-die game against the defending champion Arellano University on Friday for the right to face the thrice-to-beat San Sebastian in the championship round.
