Lady Blazers to draw inspiration from Ateneo's 2014 title run

It’s been done before and College of St. Benilde plans to duplicate it in the 91st NCAA women’s volleyball championship series.
The Lady Blazers face a daunting task of beating the San Sebastian Lady Stags thrice for a breakthrough title starting Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
An uphill battle, yes.
Improbable but not impossible.
Third year CSB coach Macky Carino wants to draw inspiration from Ateneo de Manila University's 2014 UAAP championship run when the then titleless Lady Eagles under new coach Tai Bundit went through great odds to win the crown – including a grueling four-game Finals series against the thrice-to-beat De La Salle, which ironically is the sister-school of the Lady Blazers.
Ganyan ako hindi ako gumi-give up talaga,” he added. One game at a time, tatlo man (ang kailangan naming ipanalo) iisa-isahin lang namin ‘yan.”
CSB, just like Ateneo in that fabled run, also went through a series of do-or-die games for the right to take on SSC-R, which swept the 9-game elimination round including a 25-20, 22-25, 25-17, 25-18, victory over the Lady Blazers last January 10.
Carino and his wards eliminated the No. 3 seed Perpetual Help, 16-25, 25-19, 25-11, 25-21, at the start of the stepladder semifinals before knocking the crown off Arellano University in a 25-20, 25-22, 25-23, shocker.
The mentor believes that they can hurdle the Lady Stags.
Kakayanin namin,” he said.
