Reigning Most Valuable Player Howard Mojica of Emilio Aguinaldo College has been itching to settle an old score against the Perpetual Help Altas.
Mojica was there when the Altas handed the Generals two straight championship heartbreaks.
He vowed that never again will he allow Perpetual to walk away with the title.
The graduating player led EAC to a 25-22, 14-25, 25-14, 25-16, win Tuesday in Game 1 of the 91st NCAA men’s volleyball Finals best-of-three series at The Arena in San Juan.
It was the Generals’ first match victory against the Altas in a championship series after being swept by the Las Pinas-based squad for the crown in Season 88 and 89.
The win partially erased the pain Mojica felt two years ago but he knows that there’s still a lot of work to do.
He and the Generals want to finish off the Altas on Friday.
