Last playing year ko na rin naman kasi kaya kailangan makuha na ito -- Howard Mojica
Reigning Most Valuable Player Howard Mojica of Emilio Aguinaldo College wants to leave a winning legacy when he finally hangs up his jersey.
He vowed to give it all on Friday.
“Last playing year ko na rin naman kasi kaya kailangan makuha na ito,” said Mojica.
He and the Generals go for the jugular in Game 2 of the 91st NCAA men’s volleyball best-of-three championship series against the Perpetual Help Altas.
The power-hitting, high-scoring hitter pounded the Altas with 22 points as EAC walked away with a 25-22, 14-25, 25-14, 25-16, win in the series opener last Tuesday.
Mojica, who is expected to bag his second straight MVP award, added that he wants to win the title for his teammates who will still be around next season. An inspiration to keep their heads up even after losing their main scoring option.
“Para lang rin naman ito sa mga maiiwan ko sa team namin,” he said.
It is EAC’s third Finals showdown with Perpetual in the past four years, losing the first two in Seasons 88 and 89. The Generals conquered College of St. Benilde in three games last year for their breakthrough title.
If the EAC loses in Game 2, Mojica still has another chance to keep his promise in Game 3 on Tuesday.
But one thing is for sure, this General will march into battle with guns blazing.
“’Yung ngang legacy na champion kami sa huling taon ko sa team ang gusto kong iwan. Kaya gagawin ko ang lahat para manalo,” said Mojica.
