The fans have waited long enough, and that’s why they won’t have to wait any longer for big things to happen as the 92nd Season of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament commences.

Right out of the gates, the country’s first and oldest collegiate league pits its most heated rivals against each other when defending champion Colegio de San Juan de Letran duels reigning runner-up San Beda College on Saturday at the MOA Arena.

The traditional champion versus host school turned rivalry game tips off at 2:00 PM. It will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on

Just like last season, a season when they won their first champipnship in a decade, no one is counting the Knights as contenders. Just like last season as well, however, Rey Nambatac and Mcjour Luib now with multi-titled mentor Jeff Napa are raring to prove everybody wrong.

Without a doubt, that won’t come easy, especially up against the Red Lions who have nothing but revenge on their minds. Javee Mocon and Dan Sara want nothing more than to bring back the crown to Mendiola and they hope that a victory versus their archrivals will be their first step towards that.

The actions doesn’t stop right after with the two other Final Four teams facing off against each other. Allwell Oraeme and Mapua Institute of Technology take on “The Blast Brothers” and Jose Rizal University at 4:00 PM.

Even before the games begin, the league offers something special during the opening ceremonies at 12:30 PM. There, the jersey number 14 of basketball legend and former Olympian Caloy Loyzaga will be retired by San Beda.
