MUST-WIN. A losing streak is staring defending champion Letran in the face and it comes in the form of an EAC side on a morale-high.
Games on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena
12:00 PM – Letran vs EAC
2:00 PM – LPU vs San Beda
4:00 PM – CSB vs Mapua
In their championship campaign a year ago, Colegio de San Juan de Letran stormed through the competition from the get-go and won seven straight – until running into Emilio Aguinaldo College who halted them and sullied their standing for the first time.
The Generals hope to once again torment the Knights when they face-off now in the 92nd NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Coming off a morale-boosting tournament-opening win, EAC eyes to hand the defending champions back-to-back losses only in the beginning of their title defense at the San Juan Arena, Tuesday.
Intense action in the country’s first and oldest collegiate league resumes at 12:00 PM and all of it will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/ncaa.
The Knights put up a good fight against archrival San Beda College the last time around, but got undone by the biggest chink in their armor – losing top gun Rey Nambatac who cramped up. Nambatac is good to go now, however, and is nothing but determined to carry his team back into the right track.
Standing in their way, however, are the Generals whose confidence is sky-high following their win in first-year head coach Ariel Sison’s debut. Sison and his boys’ sights are set on a winning streak as they set out to build on their promising start.
Meanwhile, the team that downed Letran to open the tournament, the Red Lions, seek to get a winning streak going up against Lyceum of the Philippines University at 2:00 PM.
Also seeking to get their own winning streak going is Mapua Institute of Technology who battle College of St. Benilde at 4:00 PM.
