Three gamedays into the 92nd Season of the NCAA Juniors Basketball Tournament and a frontrunner is yet to emerge.

Seven-time champion San Beda High School is still spotless through three assignments, but the same could be said for Arellano High School and Malayan Institute of Technology after all three scored routs of varying degrees at the San Juan Arena, Monday.

The Red Robins started the day with a bang, bringing pain of as much as 56 points unto San Sebastian College-Recoletos via a 101-45 victory.

Jasper Salenga, Romuel Junsay, and Bryan Samudio all fired 15 points and a total of five Malayan players were in double-digits. They imposed their will right from the start and didn’t let up until the finish, even turning in a merciless 38-10 tear in the final frame.

Not to be outdone, the Red Cubs figured in a dominating performance of their own, feasting on Emilio Aguinaldo College, 107-60.

Sam Abu Hijle’s 17-point, 13-rebound double-double keyed their win, but he wasn’t alone with six other of his teammates contributing at least seven points in the scoring column. They only had a single-digit lead at the break before pouring in 64 points in the second half to leave no doubt.

Meanwhile, Guillmer Dela Torre’s 19-point outburst propelled the Braves past Jose Rizal High School, 95-74.

The high-scoring guard was helped out by Carlo Abadeza, Lars Sunga, and Kobe Camarillo who had eight points apiece for Arellano who ran roughshod all over their opponents with a 28-8 advantage in transition points.

In other results, College of St. Benilde-La Salle Greenhills stayed at fourth following a 92-81 triumph over University of Perpetual Help. Tying them there is Colegio de San Juan de Letran who sunk Lyceum of the Philippines University, 63-56.
