Munsayac after another tough loss for EAC: ‘Naiyak ako’
IN THE HEAT OF HEARTBREAK. Francis Munsayac and EAC now have a couple of competitive losses through four games in the season.

With two golden opportunities for an upset, Emilio Aguinaldo College instead ended up with a turnover and a missed triple which essentially handed over a thriller of a triumph to Mapua Institute of Technology.

No one took the loss harder than Francis Munsayac who overthrew a pass out of bounds and launched the triple try that only hit the back of the ring in a disappointing last eight seconds for the Generals.

Right after seeing his final attempt bounce away from the basket, Munsayac fell to his knees, slumped his body, and put his face right on the floor. He stayed there for more than a few minutes even as teammates and opponents alike passed him by and patted him on the back.

Not long after, his body finally stood up. His spirit, on the other hand, wasn’t going to just yet.

After the game, the EAC team captain was the last one out of the locker room. Amiable as always, he still shared some time with reporters even though his voice was far from its usual cheery.

Describing the emotions that caused him to fall to his knees, Munsayac was frank in saying, “Naiyak ako. Alam ko na sobrang crucial yung ginawa kong errors.”

He then continued, “Sobrang mali talaga ako nun. Ni-take ko yung blame.”

The diminutive pointman was nothing but glad to narrate, however, that it was a welcome change for him to see his teammates be the ones to re-assure him with their words. As he put it, “Ngayon, sila naman nag-motivate sa akin. Kahit na sobrang down ako at ‘di nila ako makausap.”
