‘Best import’ Tankoua is Player of the Week
FILLING THE VOID. Donald Tankoua has stepped in the shoes of Ola Adeogun and made sure San Beda does not skip a beat.

Cameroonian Donald Tankoua was named the ACCEL Quantum/3XVI-NCAA Press Corps Player of the Week after leading San Beda College to two victories, joining Mapua Institute of Techonolgy on top of the Season 92 NCAA standings.

"For me, he is the best import. Big part of this is because of him – his rebounds and hustle," said San Beda rookie transferee Robert Bolick of his teammate.

Filling the huge void left by Ola Adeogun who has already used up his eligibility, Tankoua is delivering the goods for the Red Lions who are seeking nothing less than redemption this season.

In San Beda's 91-76 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College last Tuesday, Tankoua pulled down 17 rebounds.

However, the Cameroonian's best moment of the week was against College of St. Benilde. In the Lions' 90-63 rout of the Blazers, the 6-foot-5 Tankoua had a double-double effort of 17 points and 14 rebounds while also swatting away three attempts.

In two games, Tankoua averaged 10.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.

Tankoua bested Colegio de San Juan de Letran’s Rey Nambatac, Mapua's CJ Isit, and Fil-Am teammate Davon Potts for the weekly plum.
