Oraeme’s Cardinals next obstacle for still perfect Red Lions
KING OF THE HILL. San Beda puts on the line their top spot against reigning MVP Allwell Oraeme and second-running Mapua.

Games on Thursday at the San Juan Arena

2:00 PM – JRU vs Letran

4:00 PM – San Beda vs Mapua

San Beda College and Mapua Institute of Technology are separated by just one loss in the 92nd NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The Cardinals are eyeing to change all that by setting up shared possession of first-place when they challenge the pacesetting Red Lions at the San Juan Arena, Thursday.

That’s easier said than done, of course, as San Beda will go all out in keeping their spotless slate intact starting at 4:00 PM. Everything will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/ncaa.

Coming off a statement game against preseason favorites Arellano University, the Red Lions are rolling with six consecutive victories. Nothing but hungry to reclaim the throne they lost a season ago, they will once again bring out the big guns in the form of double-double machine Donald Tankoua and high-scorer Davon Potts.

Standing in their way are reigning MVP Allwell Oraeme and his Cardinals who have only tripped once through six games. While team captain CJ Isit remains a gametime decision, their backcourt also remains well-stocked with options from Exe Biteng to Darrel Menina.

Meanwhile, Colegio de San Juan de Letran will look to get their title defense back on track when they take on a Jose Rizal University side looking to get a winning streak going at 2:00 PM.
