Chiefs and Altas shooting for share of second
GAINING ALTITUDE. Perpetual and Arellano have their sights set on creating a four-team logjam for second.

Games on Friday at the San Juan Arena

12:00 PM – EAC vs San Sebastian

2:00 PM – LPU vs Perpetual

4:00 PM – CSB vs Arellano

Two teams coming off differing results stake their claim on the second spot in the standings in the 92nd Season of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Both holding 4-2 cards, University of Perpetual Help and Arellano University are eyeing victories versus separate opponents on Friday at the San Juan Arena that would catapult them onto level ground with 5-2 Colegio de San Juan de Letran and Mapua Institute of Technology.

The Altas put their two-game winning streak on the line at 2:00 PM up against Lyceum of the Philippines University who are themselves on a three-game surge. Bright Akhuetie and company have won three of their last four games and are more than ready to re-announce their legitimate contention.

That won’t come easy, however, against the Pirates who are the hottest team in the league, after still perfect San Beda College of course.

On the other hand, the Chiefs are hoping for a bounce back following a bitter defeat to San Beda College when they take on hapless College of St. Benilde at 4:00 PM. Jiovani Jalalon and his bus looked from the fancied favorites in the preseason, but they are nothing but determined to prove themselves once more.

That is if they can avoid a major letdown against the Blazers who have gone through seven games without a win.

The day’s other game at 12:00 PM, Emilio Aguinaldo College and San Sebastian College-Recoletos dispute a second win in the season.

All of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/ncaa.
