Finding themselves a step behind pacesetters Arellano and San Beda High Schools, Malayan Institute of Technology had no time to waste to stand up back and play catch up in the NCAA 92 Juniors Basketball Tournament.

The Red Robins did just that last Thursday at the San Juan Arena and bullied University of Perpetual Help all the way to a 24-point beatdown, 100-76.

Malayan imposed their will right from tip-off and dominated the Junior Altas, 55-30, in the first half. They would not look back the rest of the way and re-entered the win column now at 6-2.

Five Robins wound up in double-digits led by 15 points apiece from Clint Escarnis and Sherwin Concepcion. In all, they lorded over the pain with a massive 64-42 advantage in inside points.

Michael Duka scored 15 points of his own for Perpetual who suffered a second straight setback and now stand at 4-5.

Meanwhile, Lyceum of Philippines University notched back-to-back wins while also locking out of the win column Emilio Aguinaldo College, 87-74.

Troy Mallillin had 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals to fuel the Junior Blazers to a now 5-3 standing. On the other hand, the Brigadiers remained the lone winless team in the tournament at 0-8.
