POWER PLAY. Troy Mallillin continues to be the key cog in CSB-LSGH's continued contention.

College of St. Benilde-La Salle Greenhills is making a run for the top spot in the NCAA 92 Juniors Basketball Tournament and at the forefront of it all is Troy Mallillin.

Now at 12-3, the Junior Blazers are still very much a threat to top two teams San Beda High School and Arellano High School. That is all thanks to a nine-game winning streak since their upset at the hands of Lyceum of the Philippines University.

Last Thursday, Mallillin made sure they got their revenge and posted 14 points and seven rebounds in their 85-72 victory versus the Junior Pirates

This, coming after a 25-point, 11-rebound power performance in CSB-LSGH’s 72-51 throttling for Jose Rizal High School last Monday.

Mallillin’s averages of 19.5 points and nine rebounds through two games were more than enough for him to claim the NCAA Juniors Player of the Week citation for September 4-10.

The Junior Blazers’ main man beat out Red Cub Sam Abu Hijleh and Junior Pirate Junjun Cecilio for the weekly nod.
