Stags blast EAC to keep second round roll going

Michael Calisaan finished with a nice double-double to lift Baste past the pesky Generals.
Not much was at stake in the second round matchup of San Sebastian and EAC but whatever bragging rights was left to take, the Golden Stags took it.
San Sebastian salvaged some pride after blasting the Generals, 87-71, in the NCAA Season 92 men's basketball tournament at the San Juan Arena Thursday.
Baste continued to roll in the second round as the Golden Stags got their sixth win against two defeats to push their overall record to 7-10.
"Wala namang no-bearing game sa amin eh. Kasi actually yung mga bata gusto matuto at maging ready for anything na darating," head coach Egay Macaraya said
The Golden Stags were off to the races in the opening quarter, already leading by double digits after the first 10 minutes, 29-16.
San Sebastian pushed the advantage to as high as 20, 72-52, early in the fourth and it was cruise control from then on all the way to the final buzzer.
Michael Calisaan led the Stags with 22 points and 14 rebounds while four others scored in double figures led by Allyn Bulunadi with 14.
Sidney Onwubere was the high man for the Generals with 19 points but was ejected in the final period after two technical fouls.
Hamadou Laminou added a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds for EAC who dropped to 5-11 for the season.
San Sebastian (87): Calisaan 22, Bulunadi 14, Ilagan 13, Fabian 12, Costelo 10, Valdez 5, Gayosa 3, Baetiong 2, Capobres 2, Mercado 1, Calma 1.
EAC (71): Onwubere 19, Laminou 18, Morada 14, Munsayac 11, Mendoza 4, Corilla 2, Diego 2, Pascua 1.
Quarterscores: 29-16, 39-31, 67-52, 87-71.
