PLAYOFF POSITIONING. The top two positions in the Final Four may very well be determined today.
Games on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena
12:00 PM – EAC vs CSB
2:00 PM – Arellano vs Mapua
4:00 PM – Perpetual vs San Beda
The Final Four cast is complete in the NCAA 92 Men’s Basketball Tournament, but the top two spots and the twice-to-beat advantage they entail remain up for grabs.
League-leader Arellano University set their sights on an outright playoff incentive when they do battle with Mapua Institute of Technology on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.
The crucial contest, only one of two of the day, tips-off at 2:00 PM and all of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/ncaa.
Arellano stands alone atop the leaderboard at 13-3 and need just one more win to assure themselves of a top two finish. Hoping to play spoiler and boost their own chances at the twice-to-beat advantage, however, are the 11-5 Cardinals.
With an Arellano win and a Mapua loss, San Beda College then just needs to take care of business against University of Perpetual Help at 4:00 PM to clinch the other twice-to-beat advantage.
At 12-4, the inconsistent Red Lions now need some help from their modern-day rivals coupled with a win of their own for the easy way into the playoff incentive. That’s easier said than done, however, up against the 11-5 Altas who are also still in contention for the top two spots.
In the day’s other game, Emilio Aguinaldo College hopes to pile onto the woes of still winless College of St. Benilde at 12:00 PM.
