San Sebastian ends its season on a three-game winning streak.
It's a shame San Sebastian College had a horrible round 1 because if they had more than one win in the first half of the season, the Golden Stags might be fighting for the Final Four right about now.
Baste ended its NCAA Season 92 campaign with an 85-58 pounding of Jose Rizal University Thursday at the San Juan Arena.
The Golden Stags won a third straight game and finished their second round run with an impressive 7-2 mark for an 8-10 overall record.
San Sebastian started to take full control of the game in the second quarter and things got so out of hand the Golden Stags took a lead as high as 32 over the listless Heavy Bombers.
The final blow came in the fourth as the Stags went up, 83-51, with 2:08 to go.
"As I've said this is a new team maybe we gelled very late second round na," head coach Egay Macaraya said.
"But still ang maganda doon is everybody don't want to lose anymore, they want to win all the time," he added.
Allyn Bulunadi led a balanced San Sebastian attack with 14 points and seven rebounds. Ryan Costelo and Michael Calisaan added 13 each.
The Heavy Bombers missed the Final Four for the first time since Season 89 after Mapua's win over CSB last Thursday and JRU failed to end its year on a high note.
Paolo Pontejos was the high man for the Heavy Bombers as he scored 14 points.
Teytey Teodoro was limited to onl eight in his season finale.
JRU finished an even 9-9 for Season 92.
