ALL IS WELL. Don't worry, Perpetual fans, there is no bad blood between Bright Akhuetie and Nic Omorogbe.
Bright Akhuetie had a brand new look for the first playoff appearance in his collegiate career.
Moving on from the buzz cut, the Nigerian powerhouse sported a full-on skinhead on Friday at the MOA Arena. Asked about it, he answered candidly, “New look. Playoff look.”
That was the first time Akhuetie was back in the maroon and gold after serving a school-sanctioned one-game suspension in the Altas’ most recent outing last Friday.
According to the Perpetual big man himself, he incurred a disciplinary action for “insubordination.” Reports have stated this was caused by a heated discussion between him and coach Nic Omorogbe during practice.
A whole week later, however, Akhuetie assured the faithful over at Las Pinas that there was no bad blood between the two of them. “It’s okay. We’re good. We’re cool. (It’s) water under the bridge,” he expressed.
In the end, the Altas’ man in the middle said all of them are nothing but focused on their goal to make their way back into the Finals. As he put it, “My teammates, my coaches, my friends, and I really wanna win. That’s my motivation.”
He then continued, “I wanna win. We all wanna win.”
