'MR. FOURTH QUARTER.' Davon Potts said he will do whatever it takes to win.
That isn’t even any doubt now that San Beda College have found their newest top gun in Davon Potts.
The Filipino-American lived up to his nickname of “Mr. Fourth Quarter” once again on Tuesday at the MOA Arena as he shot down Perpetual and shot the Red Lions onto the Finals of the NCAA 92 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Firing all but five of his 16 points in the pivotal 22-10 push bridging the third and fourth quarters that essentially won them the game, Potts was both the one to pump the hearts of San Beda and break the hearts of the Altas.
For his part, however, the first-year gunslinger said he doesn’t want to be known only for taking and making the most clutch of shots. As he put it, “My thing is, I’m a big competitor. I do what it takes to win, I contribute whatever we need to win.”
He then continued, “Whether it’s guarding one of their point guards to make sure he doesn’t set up their offense or it’s getting those big shots, I’ll do it.”
Indeed, to go along with his scoring output, Potts also recorded three rebounds, three assists, and standup defense on Perpetual’s AJ Coronel. “I always want to win,” he expressed.
