With Finals one day away, San Beda not sweating lack of rest

REST IS FOR THE WEAK. San Beda will play in the Finals only two days after barging in there.
San Beda College will battle modern-day rivals Arellano University in Game 1 of the NCAA 92 Men’s Basketball Finals on Thursday at the MOA Arena.
This, only two days after the Red Lions put out all the stops to prevail over University of Perpetual Help.
This, only almost a week after San Beda lost their twice-to-beat advantage to see their semifinals series get stretched all while the Chiefs made good on their twice-to-beat advantage to be rewarded with an extra week of rest and preparation.
Of course, coach Jamike Jarin said they would have wanted to be the ones getting the extra week of rest and preparation. As he put it, “We wanted to get into the Finals earlier. We wanted to win (last Friday) because we wanted to rest our bodies and really prepare.”
He then continued, “We were hoping the series between Arellano and Mapua would have gotten extended, but it turned out, it was the other way around. They got the rest, we had to play.”
Don’t think for a second, however, that Jarin and the Lions are sweating the fatigue factor as they head into war with a well-rested Arellano side. “During this time of the year, you can’t be tired, you can’t be hurting, you can’t be sad. You just cannot,” the fiery mentor expressed.
Robert Bolick could only agree in saying, “Lahat naman ngayon, pagod na so okay lang.”
