CLEAR SKIES. LPU hopes to finally be a contender on the back of Rookie of the Year Harry Nzeusseu.
The skies are clear for the future of Lyceum of the Philippines University and much of it has to do with first-year player Harry Nzeusseu.
Nzeusseu averaged 15.3 points, 15.3 rebounds, and one block all while providing the paint presence the Pirates have always been missing.
Behind the hulking Cameroonian, the Pirates finished the NCAA 92 Men’s Basketball Tournament with a 6-12 record – one win better than a year ago.
Those were more than enough to earn him Rookie of the Year honors and edge out Arellano University’s own impressive rookie in Lervin Flores.
Runner-up Flores averaged 9.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in 19 games. He and Arellano are battling San Beda College in the Finals.
