MOVING ON UP. Guilmer Dela Torre isn't going anywhere.
Filling the shoes of the most decorated Chief is the definition of difficult, but if anybody’s up to the task, it may very well be the most decorated Brave.
Arellano University has secured the services of high-scoring guard Guilmer Dela Torre to help make up for the loss of court general Jiovani Jalalon.
Dela Torre is coming off a Mythical selection in the NCAA Juniors which saw him average 21.6 points, including 47 threes in total, 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 steals.
The five-foot-nine hotshot spearheaded back-to-back playoff appearances for the Braves – a breakthrough in the history of their program. As such, he is considered to be the first top prospect the school has produced.
For Dela Torre, it was all about giving back. “Sa Arellano ako nagsimula kaya gusto kong lumaban sa Seniors na Arellano pa rin. Gusto kong suklian lahat ng tulong na binigay nila sa akin,” he expressed.
Before he could be able to make the same kind of impact he did in the Juniors, the 19-year-old said he knows he needs to put on more bulk.
Dela Torre will bolster a new-look backcourt for the Chiefs which will now feature Kent Salado at the forefront.
