WHAT'S NEXT? Allwell Oraeme has professed his love for Mapua once more.
Allwell Oraeme, like coach Atoy Co said, will be going back to Nigeria.
The two-time NCAA MVP, however, apparently never said he was gone for good.
“I told him that I will be going back home (to Nigeria), but I didn’t tell him I won’t be coming back (to Mapua),” he said.
The Cardinals’ mentor shared a shocker earlier in the day by saying that, “Wala nang Oraeme (sa Mapua).”
Assistant coach Randy Alcantara then added fuel to the fire as he said, "Ang masasabi ko lang, one week na siyang 'di uma-attend ng practice."
Oraeme then went on to re-emphasize his feelings for the school which paved the way for his rise as a towering figure in collegiate basketball. “I love Mapua. That’s all I can say right now,” he expressed.
In this light, the six-foot-10 center shared that he has told the school’s athletic director that there have been no certain someones who have approached him regarding a transfer. “I told the athletic director that I have not been in contact with any other school,” he said.
Oraeme also added that if and when he does get contacted by other schools, all of their dealings will be aboveboard. As he put it, “If I happen to do that, I will let Mapua know and everything will be done the right way.”
