Baste now has a six-foot-five (with hair) secret weapon

MR. HI-TOP. "Little-known" may no longer apply to Jason David sooner than later.
San Sebastian College-Recoletos has traditionally been one of the schools which does not have a foreign student-athlete on its roster.
While that isn’t changing anytime soon, head coach Egay Macaraya seems to be up to something in Recto that would reinforce his team.
Talking about new starter Jason David, he said, “Well, he’s my secret weapon.”
As the Golden Stags made noise in the preseason, little-known David showed up as the glue guy that covered up whatever holes were left behind by Michael Calisaan, Ryan Costelo, and RK Ilagan.
Especially at the defensive end where he saw much time matched up against the likes of Adamson University sniper Jerrick Ahanmisi and University of the Philippines stud Paul Desiderio.
In fact, UAAP Mythical Team member Desiderio was held to only two points and missed all of his eight field goal attempts with David as his primary defender.
“Jason can play the three and four positions so depende na lang kung ano ang kailangan ko sa kanya. I guess, he’d doing fine in his job,” the multi-titled mentor expressed.
Indeed, for the “secret weapon” himself, he’s just doing his job. As he put it, “Sabi lang po kasi ni coach, play defense lang para makuha namin ang panalo. Yun lang po kasi ang panlaban namin – yung defense namin.”
If he continues just doing his job, however, David won’t be a secret anymore for San Sebastian.
If he continues just doing his job, everybody’s eyes will be opened to the six-foot-two versatile forward who is all over the court.
Mind you, he’s actually not just six-foot-two. If he keeps his unique hairdo, he actually stands at six-foot-five. “Six-(foot)-two po. Pero kasama yung buhok, six-(foot)-five po ako,” he candidly shared with reporters.
It’s not only on defense that the Pampanga native is proving capable, however. “He can defend very well in any position. He also has the confidence in shooting the three,” Macaraya said.
He then continued, “Kaya nga siya ang secret weapon ko.”
