A WIN IS A WIN. CSB has now matched its win total from a season ago.
College of St. Benilde and new head coach TY Tang are off to a winning start in the NCAA 93 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
The league on Tuesday ruled that University of Perpetual Help was ineligible to play in its matchup against the Blazers earlier in the day.
Citing the rule which states, “any athlete whose playing uniform does not conform with the rules will be ineligible to participate in a given game/match.”
The Altas were clad in maroon when they were scheduled to be donning their light uniforms.
As such, their 69-65 win was overturned.
With the NCAA decision, CSB rises to 1-0 in the standings – already matching its win total from a season ago.
Conversely, Perpetual drops to 0-1.
The league ruling also covers the Juniors game between the Junior Altas and the Junior Blazers where the former was also wearing dark uniform instead of light.
The Juniors standings don’t change, however, as CSB-LSGH triumphed in that matchup.
