SHOW 'EM SOME LOVE. Bright Akhuetie remains a fan of Perpetual.
Bright Akhuetie has moved from UPHSD to UP.
After two seasons with University of Perpetual Help, the Nigerian will now suit up for the University of the Philippines.
That doesn’t mean that the Alta inside him is gone, however.
In fact, Akhuetie was present when Perpetual made its debut in the NCAA 93 Men’s Basketball Tournament against College of St. Benilde last Tuesday. Asked what he was doing at the venue, he answered, “I came to watch basketball because Perpetual is playing.”
The 20-year-old was seen celebrating several times when his former teammates made a basket.
More than the Altas, however, Akhuetie said it’s the team’s fans he misses the most. “They are always supportive. They are the best supporters ever,” he expressed.
He then continued, “Of course, you cannot get out of Perpetual and not miss the community. I still love them big-time.”
With his presence, the six-foot-eight powerhouse proved he feels no ill will against his once-alma mater.
Akhuetie even went on to say that in the ongoing season, of course, there’s only one team he’s rooting for. “I wish them good look. I expect them to do better,” he said, referring to the Altas, of course.
He then continued, “I will always be here to support the team if I can.”
