Injured Munsayac eyeing to be back by EAC’s next game
GET UP, STAND UP. Francis Munsayac is hoping for nothing else but a quick recovery from his right foot injury.

In a sight that has become commonplace, Francis Munsayac was unable to finish a game for Emilio Aguinaldo College on Friday.

Late in the Generals’ matchup against San Beda College, the graduating guard’s right foot landed on the Javee Mocon’s foot, causing the former to fall to the floor.

Not long after, Munsayac, still squirming in pain, had to be carried by his teammates to their bench.

After the game, which EAC lost, initial diagnosis said the court general suffered a right foot sprain.

Asked how much it hurt, Munsayac answered, “Pinainom ako ng pain relievers so ‘di ko alam yung tunay na pain.”

Whatever it is, the pint-sized pointman vowed to be back just in time for the Generals’ game against Mapua University on Tuesday. “Sabi ng physical therapists, pipilitin naming makahabol ng Tuesday,” he expressed.

Opposing head coach Boyet Fernandez also wished for the best even though Munsayac dropped 21 points on 57 percent shooting on his Red Lions. “I hope Francis recovers soon. He gave us a headache because he’s a really good player,” he said.

However well he performed, the five-foot-five player said a win is all that matters to him. “Stats don’t matter pag talo,” he said.

EAC will need its veteran leader in full strength if it is to put a stop to its two-game slide following a season-opening win.
