EAC coach: ‘We’re looking to be first team to beat LPU’
YES, WE CAN. EAC is as confident as ever and as determined as ever.

Emilio Aguinaldo College is not the same Emilio Aguinaldo College from a year ago.

Need proof?

They scored their first back-to-back wins of the season in just five tries. For all of last season, they were unable to get any winning streak going.

And so, when the Generals got a two-game win run on Tuesday, Ariel Sison was nothing but satisfied. “Actually, that’s what we have been preparing for – to get consecutive wins. Hindi pa namin yun nagawa sa NCAA e,” the head coach said, referring to his two-year stint calling the shots.

He then continued, “Ang challenge ko kasi sa kanila is bakit tayo nakakakuha ng magkasunod na talo tapos hindi natin kayang gawin na magkasunod na panalo? Thankfully, that happened today.”

Don’t make the mistake of thinking are done just yet, however.

Now they have one objective out of the way, EAC wants nothing more than to make it three in a row.

Thay third consecutive win, though, will have to come at the expense of Lyceum of the Philippines University – the Lyceum of the Philippines University that hasn’t lost in five games and has done so in dominant fashion.

None of that is weighing on the minds of the Generals, however. “We’re looking to be the first team to beat LPU. We’re praying and practicing hard tomorrow,” Sison said, full of confidence.

He then continued, “Hopefully, tomorrow would be enough to beat them.”

To do so, Sison’s boys cannot fall short of proving their coach correct. “Sabi ko nung preseason pa lang, I know this team will do differently this coming season. Kasi nga nakikita ko naman na kaya namin so I just trust everybody in the team,” the mentor said.

The good news is that the players themselves are only determined – so much so that individual honors are far from their minds. “Noong high school naman, may nakuha na akong award. Ang hindi ko pa nararanasan ay Final Four,” team captain Sidney Onwubere, a former Mythical selection in the Juniors, said.

And so, EAC has one bold guarantee for their matchup against the Chiefs on Thuraday. “We will not allow them to beat us on our homecourt,” Sison expressed.
