Generals blast hapless Mapua for fifth win of the season

The Generals secured their fifth win of the season Thursday at the San Juan Arena, scoring a comfortable 85-72 decision over Mapua in the second round.
Behind the offensive explosion of Jerome Garcia, EAC now holds a 5-6 card, tied with Letran for fifth and half a game behind idle San Sebastian for fourth in the standings.
Garcia sparked EAC's quick charge, dropping 20 points right in the opening period to set the tone early in favor of the Generals. He finished with a total of 27 on top of six rebounds.
Behind Garcia was Sidney Onwubere who once again anchored the Generals' fight from the inside as the veteran forwad dropped a 16-point, 15-rebound double-double for EAC's first win in the second round.
