TRADITIONAL POWERHOUSE. Michael Calisaan and San Sebastian are confident that they will only continue showcasing their skills on the playoff stage of the NCAA.
San Sebastian College-Recoletos’ stampede in the NCAA 93 Men’s Basketball Tournament has been put to a stop.
San Beda College knocked off the Golden Stags last Tuesday to claim the only remaining Finals berth.
Still, it was, without a doubt, a successful campaign for the boys from Recto who celebrated a return to the playoffs after a four-year absence.
And not just for the players themselves, but also for the Baste community which had long been used to winning. “We’re very happy that the San Sebastian community again is united and very supportive. One of our goals is to bring back the glory days of Baste,” head coach Egay Macaraya said.
He then continued, “We’re one step closer to achieving that goal and hopefully, next year we can do better.”
Now they have made the playoffs and will be bringing back the band for next season, the future is only looking even brighter for San Sebastian. “Hopefully, everybody is healthy next year and will continue the hard work and standard we all agreed to. I know that we will have a bright future next year,” the mentor expressed.
Watch out, NCAA. Coach Egay, Allyn Bulanadi, Michael Calisaan, Ryan Costelo, Jayson David, and RK Ilagan will all be returning next year – each and every one of them even more determined than ever.
