Perfect Pirates battle defending champ Lions in Game 1

Game on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum

3:30 PM – LPU vs San Beda

At long last, the championship series everybody has wanted in the 93rd Season of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is upon us.

The league’s top two teams in Lyceum of the Philippines University and San Beda College will wage war for all the marbles in Game 1 of the best-of-three Finals on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The perfect Pirates and the defending champion Red Lions go at it at 3:30 PM and all of the action will be on S+A, S+A HD, and

It’s LPU’s first time to play after the elimination round, but it is riding a confidence-high after having swept their preliminary assignments and having automatically advanced to the Finals.

Confident as well, however, is San Beda which has all the championship experience as it enters its 12th Finals in a row.

In the Juniors Finals, Mapua University defends its title against upstart College of St. Benilde-La Salle Greenhills in Game 1 tipping off at 1:00 PM.

The Red Robins’ twin towers of Will Gozum will look to impose their will on Junior Blazers’ athletic forward Inand Fornilos while do-it-all guards Clint Escamis and Joel Cagulangan will also face off.
