Two Red Robins, two Junior Blazers in Mythical Team

Two players each for the two Finalists in the NCAA Juniors Basketball Tournament comprise the Season 93 Mythical Team.
Mapua University twin towers Warren Bonifacio and Will Gozum and College of St. Benilde-La Salle Greenhills inside-outside combo Joel Cagulangan and Inand Fornilos are all Mythical selections.
Gozum was the top individual player in the tournament with per game counts of 13.8 points in 49 percent shooting on top of 9.9 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, and 1.3 assists while frontcourt partner Bonifacio was not that far behind with per game counts of 11.5 points in 48.3 percent shooting to go along with 11.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 steals
Those two carried the Red Robins to a 13-5 record in the eliminations before quickly dispatched Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the Final Four.
On the other hand, Cagulangan was the difference-maker and Fornilos was the game-changer in the Junior Blazers’ conquest of top-seed and twice-to-beat San Beda High School.
Through the tournament, point guard Cagulangan averaged 16.2 points in 42.7 percent shooting to go along with 6.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.3 steals while forward Fornilos averaged 13 points in 53.9 percent shooting on top of 12 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.
Those four will be going at it in the best-of-three Finals.
They are joined in the Mythical Team by Aaron Fermin of Arellano High School who normed 14.8 points in 42.3 percent shooting as well as 16.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks.
Fermin was also named as the league’s Defensive Player of the Year after topping the rebounds column with 16.4 per game as well as placing second in the blocks column with 2.2 per game.
Rounding out the Best Defensive Team by Mapua’s Bonifacio and Gozum, CSB-LSGH’s Fornilos, and San Sebastian College-Recoletos’ Romel Calahat.
