Will there be a Game 3? MVP Perez guarantees it

WIN OR GO HOME. CJ Perez says LPU and San Beda will still be going at it a week from now.
Game 1 between Lyceum of the Philippines University and San Beda College, as expected, went down the wire.
With just 20 ticks to go on the clock last Friday, CJ Perez brought his Pirates to only 87-91.
Then, the Season MVP had some words for King Lion Robert Bolick who had been guarding him for majority of the matchup. “Sabi ko, wag silang bibitaw kasi kukunin namin sa kanila,” he told reporters post-game.
He then continued, “Pero siyempre, pabiro lang yun.”
Of course, LPU’s rally fell short and San Beda ultimately prevailed, 94-87, to move one win away from back-to-back championships.
While he was having fun, more or less, with his in-game comments, Perez said he had one promise to Bolick after the game. “Sabi ko sa kanya, babawi kami. Magkikita pa kami sa Game 2, yun lang sabi ko sa kanya,” he shared.
More than that, the Pirates’ main man also had one promise to the Red Lions and just about everybody. Asked if there would be a winner-take-all Game 3, he answered, full of confidence, “Oo naman. Siyempre!”
For that to happen, LPU has to dig deep and figure out San Beda in Game 2.
Bolick and the Red Lions are only welcoming their opponents’ bid for a bounce back win, however. “We look forward to Game 2. Sabi niya (Perez) sa akin, he’s gonna win Game 2,” he said.
He then continued, “That’s the beauty of basketball – the competition. At the end of the day, we’re friends, but inside the court, we all want to win.”
Game 2 of the Finals between San Beda and LPU is on Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum. All of the action will be on S+A, S+A HD, and livestream.
