San Beda shoots for Finals shutout of once perfect LPU

Game on Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum

3:30 PM – San Beda vs LPU

Lyceum of the Philippines University may have swept the eliminations of the NCAA 93 Men’s Basketball Tournament, but it’s San Beda College which is on the verge of sweeping the Finals.

The Red Lions have back-to-back championships within their reach, but will again have to go through an even more determined Pirate crew on Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum.

San Beda looks to close out the best-of-three series while LPU looks to force a winner-take-all matchup starting at 3:30 PM. All of the action will be on S+A, S+A HD, and livestream.

Behind the game-long brilliance of Donald Tankoua and the clutch plays of Robert Bolick, the defending champions knocked off their erstwhile undefeated opponents in Game 1, 94-87.

With Season MVP CJ Perez and their high-octane attack, however, the Intramuros-based squad are nothing but confident they can live to fight another day.

In the Juniors division, College of St. Benilde-La Salle Greenhills goes all-out for its first-ever championship at the expense of Mapua University at 1:00 PM.

Following a 74-68 Game 1 win, the Junior Blazers will be led into battle once more by do-it-all guard Joel Cagulangan. However, they will need to find a way to offset the absence of suspended double-double machine Inand Fornilos.

Looking to take advantage are Season MVP Will Gozum and Mythical member Warren Bonifacio who will do their all to carry the Red Robins into a Game 3.
