San Beda College roared to its third straight win.
Cesca Racraquin was all over the stat sheets as she led San Beda College to its third straight win at the expense of College of St. Benilde, 25-22, 24-26, 27-25, 25-19, Tuesday in the 93rd NCAA women’s volleyball competition at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Season 92 Rookie of the Year scored all of her 17 points on spikes in the Lady Red Spikers third win in as many outings to remain at second spot behind repeat-seeking Arellano University (4-0).
Racraquin was also active on defense with 15 digs and nine excellent receptions for an all-around performance that drew praises from head coach Nemesio Gavino.
“Si Cesca malaki ang ginagampanan niya sa team kasi isa siya sa mga beterano,” said Gavino. “‘Yung maturity sa game talaga nandoon lalo na kung paano niya i-organize and team.”
Sattriani Espiritu added 14 points while Nieza Viray posted 13 for the Mendiola-based squad, which had 50 attack points with most coming off Rebecca Cuevas’ 44 excellent sets.
San Beda College put blemish on the Lady Blazers’ erstwhile unbeaten card.
CSB dropped to 2-1 mark tied with idle Perpetual Help.
Rachel Austero and and Ranya Musa got 13 markers each while Dianne Ventura and Klarissa Abriam had an identical 11-point outing in lost cause for the Taft-based squad.
