University of Perpetual Help looks to spark a winning streak when the Lady Altas take on skidding Emilio Aguinaldo College Thursday in the 93rd NCAA women’s volleyball competition at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Game time is set at 11:00 a.m.

The Lady Altas sport a 2-1 win-loss record tied with College of St. Benilde behind unbeaten Arellano University (4-0) and San Beda College (3-0).

Perpetual is coming off an ugly win against a seven-woman San Sebastian College last Monday where the Lady Altas squandered a 2-0 match before fending off the comeback attempt of the gritty Lady Stags, 25-22, 25-23, 7-25, 18-25, 15-11.

“Hindi kami pwedeng maging complacent kahit sino pa ang kalaban,” said Perpetual coach Macky Carino.

The trio of Lourdes Clemente, Cindy Imbo and Bianca Tripoli saved the Las Pinas-based squad the last time out with double-digit productions and are expected to again lead the Lady Altas in scoring their first back-to-back wins this season.

The Lady Generals, on the other hand, are still looking for their first win.

EAC is winless in three outings tied with Mapua University.

Meanwhile, Lyceum of the Philippines University and Letran clash at 12:30 p.m.

The Lady Knights and Lady Pirates are on a three-way logjam with SSC-R with 1-2 win-loss slates.

In men’s play, unbeaten Perpetual looks to bag its fourth straight win for a share of the lead with Arellano U in a 9:30 a.m. showdown with EAC.

The winless Knights and Pirates meet at 2:00 p.m. for a chance to barge in the win column.
