Perpetual's practices have been running smoothly under just officially announced head coach Frankie Lim

Frankie Lim will be back in the NCAA, but he will now be wearing a different shade of red.

The University of Perpetual Help officially announced last Wednesday that it has appointed Lim as the new head coach for its men’s basketball team.

According to school owner Antonio Tamayo, the multi-titled mentor will be taking over the post left behind by Nosa Omorogbe who has elected to return to Nigeria to attend to family matters.

With Omorogbe at the helm, the Altas made the Final Four in 2015 only to stumble onto a 4-14 record a year ago.

The Las Pinas-based squad brought in Lim, first as a consultant, to help turn things around last December.

Since then, he has been running the practices.

According to court general Keith Pido, everybody is excited about the new era. “Lahat po kami, siyempre, excited. Practice pa lang, ganadong-ganado na lahat,” he said.

Now, Perpetual has granted complete control of its program to the 57-year-old who once steered San Beda College to four titles in five years.

Lim will be inheriting a team that already has a core of Pido, versatile AJ Coronel, and Mythical selection Prince Eze.

They will also be welcoming transferee Edgar Charcos from University of the East as well as Junior Atlas star Jielo Razon.

As of present, the new head coach’s staff reportedly includes former player Gerard Dizon and Juniors mentor Myk Saguitguit.
