Lady Blazers make quick work of Mapua to boost playoff bid
CSB climbed to 5-3 in the standings, improving its chances of taking one of the finaal two slots in the semifinals.

Fresh from a big win over defending champion Arellano, College of St. Benilde's march to the playoffs of the NCAA Season 93 women's volleyball tournament continues.

The Lady Blazers made quick work of Mapua Thursday at the San Juan Arena, scoring a 25-18, 25-15, 25-17 sweep.

CSB climbed to 5-3 in the standings, improving its chances of taking one of the finaal two slots in the semifinals.

"Yung game kanina, lamang kami sa skills, sa experience, so kumbaga ang target lang namin, perform lang namin yun prinactice namin," head coach Arnold Laniog said.

"Well yung game kanina is ano lang, sabi ko nga, lamang tayo in terms of skills, in terms of experience and sabihin na natin na level of game as a team. Kumbaga ang target namin is ma-perform namin ang pinractice namin and ma-improve namin ang mga areas na kailangan namin i-improve coming into sa mga next games namin na which is yun ang crucial against Perpetual," head coach Arnold Laniog said.

"Nabigyan din ng chance ang ibang players na ma-feel ang experience sa loob ng court kung paano maglaro," he added.

All 14 Lady Blazers saw action against the Lady Cardinals and all but three players scored at least one point.

Rachel Austero led the CSB offenses with 12 points, eight from attacks, while Ranya Musa added another 10.

As for Mapua, who now has back-to-back winless seaons, the team struggled to put together anything on offense anew.

Three players, Patria Pena, Lorraine Barias, and team captain Katrina Racelis, scored five points each for the Lady Cardinals.
