Lady Chiefs clinch playoff bonus after downing Lady Stags

Defending champion Arellano just picked up its playoff bonus in the NCAA Season 93 women's volleyball tournament.
The Lady Chiefs extended their mastery over San Sebastian, winning last year's Finals rematch in four sets, 19-25, 36-34, 25-16, 25-21, Thursday at the San Juan Arena.
Arellano capped its elimination round with an 8-1 record, clinching a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.
After dropping the first set, the Lady Chiefs had to work double time in the second, taking a 36-34 win to tie things up.
After that, Arellano had no trouble the rest of the way and won a fourth straight game against Baste dating back to last year's championship series.
Despite the win, head coach Obet Javier wasn't too happy about his team;s performance.
"Medyo may dapat kami ayusin pa eh. Kung tutuusin, kung tatanungin niyo ako kung happy ba ako, masaya nanalo, pero kung titignan natin yung kabuuan ng game, hindi maganda para sa amin," he said.
"Nagkakaroon kami n malaking problema ngayon, hindi ko alam pero dapat maayos namin. Nakita ko, kung ganito performance namin sa semis, mukhang mahihirapan kami umusad," Javier added.
Jovielyn Prado fired 17 points to lead the champs, 14 of them from attacks. Regine Arocha added 16 points while Mary Anne Esguerra had 15 points.
Necole Ebued dropped 14 points and Andrea Marzan was good for 13, rounding out a balanced Arellano attack.
For Baste, it was Nikka Dalisay that led the way with 23 points but the Lady Stags are now on the brink of elimination with a 5-4 card.
San Sebastian will have to rely on other team to make its return to the postseason.
