University of Perpetual Help and Arellano University meet in a sudden death for the 93rd NCAA men's volleyball throne.

It all boils down to who wants it more.

University of Perpetual Help and Arellano University battle for all the marbles when the two proud teams meet for one last time Thursday in the best-of-three championship decider of the 93rd NCAA men’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Game time is at 3:30 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.

The Altas, who are looking to claim their 11th title overall, tied the series, 1-1, after a four-set 26-24, 25-20, 23-25, 25-16, victory over the Chiefs on Monday.

Perpetual head coach Sammy Acaylar will pin his hopes on graduating players Rey Taneo, setter Warren Catipay and libero Jack Kalingking, Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player Joebert Almodiel and Ridzuan Muhali.

“I cannot say ako mag-champion o sila mag-champion. I cannot say that because si God lang nakakaalam kung kanino ibibigay ang championship,” said Acaylar, who is also na national men’s team coach.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, wants to join their women’s team at the throne after the Lady Chiefs claimed their second straight women’s title Monday.

Arellano U took the series opener, 12-25, 25-21, 19-25, 26-24, 15-9, that handed Perpetual its first loss of the season after sweeping the nine-game elimination round.

John Cabillan, Kevin Liberato, Christian Segovia and Christian dela Paz will carry the fight for the Sherwin Meneses-mentored squad, which hopes to score a breakthrough crown.

“Kung bibigay sa atin, OK. Last game na, so magpeprapare kami, wala na kaming ititira,” said Meneses.

Meanwhile, Perpetual sets its eyes on wrapping up its four-peat campaign at 1:00 p.m. against Letran in the juniors division Finals.
