UAAP Jrs. MVP CJ Cansino will have some thinking to do as Letran is set to go all-out for his commitment
CJ Cansino has already been practicing with the Seniors team of University of Sto. Tomas.
That doesn’t mean, however, that the next step for the UAAP Juniors MVP is already set in stone.
Though Cansino has long said, and is still saying, that he would want to stay in Espana, he has also admitted that he is also in touch with other schools such as Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Far Eastern University, and National University.
And among those three schools, it looks like Letran is the one going all-out to pry him away from UST.
According to multiple sources in team management, the Knights are “very, very interested” in the do-it-all swingman.
So much so that the order to go after him has the full blessing of Special Assistant the Rector for Sports Development Alfrancis Chua.
Chua, the concurrent San Miguel Corporation Sports director and Brgy. Ginebra governor, was named to his new post in January and wasted no time in vowing personal support for Letran.
If the Knights indeed make this happen, they can add Cansino to a rejiggered roster that already has dependable holdovers Jeo Ambohot, Jerrick Balanza, JP Calvo, and Bong Quinto as well as talented transferees Bonbon Batiller, Christian Fajarito, Larry Muyang, and Fran Yu.
