Germy Mahinay and Vincent Cunanan are much-welcome additions to an LPU side looking to better its runner-up finish last season.
Yet again flexing its muscle as a contender, Lyceum of the Philippines University is joining in on the fun of high school recruitment.
The Pirates have gotten for themselves a couple of solid high school players in former Lyceum Jrs. floor leader Vincent Cunanan and ex-San Beda High School big man Germy Mahinay.
Head coach Topex Robinson himself confirmed the development to ABS-CBN Sports.
In Cunanan, Robinson gets an all-around player who helped steer the Junior Pirates to a 7-11 record alongside Batang Gilas player Mac Guadana.
The 5-foot-11 guard averaged 13.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 2.1 steals a season ago and will now play alongside Marcelino twins Jaycee and Jayvee and Reymar Caduyac.
Not that impressive last year with per game counts of 5.4 points and 5.4 rebounds was Mahinay who had been a longtime pillar for the Red Cubs.
Still, his 6-foot-5 frame will do nothing but fortify a frontline that includes Mike Nzeusseu, Ralph Tansingo, and Ranzelle Yong.
The two are much-welcome additions to an LPU side looking to better its runner-up finish last season.
