The Marcelino sibling duo made significant impact in the game, helping steer Lyceum to a 2-0 slate, while wearing the same pair of sneakers.
Call their shoe game fire. They took 'twinning' to the next level. Pun intended.
Twins Jaycee and Jayvee Marcelino mixed-and-matched a pair of dark-colored and a pair of light-colored Nike Kobe ADs, Friday, to create a mismatched look that the run-and-gun pair of Pirates pulled off perfectly.
Asked about their sneaker antics, it was not meant to make a statement, Jaycee said, but just to test their newly-acquired size 11 kicks.
"Napagtripan lang namin. Tinesting lang namin. Ayun, same lang yung sapatos, kulay lang yung pinagkaiba," Jaycee, who owned the white pair, explained.
The sibling duo made significant impact in the game, helping steer Lyceum to a 2-0 slate.
Jaycee steadied the ship at a very tumultuous point of the game for the Pirates, scoring 13 points of his career-high 24 in the fourth quarter alone.
The guard also added eight rebounds and five steals in his all-around effort.
Jayvee meanwhile scattered 10 points and dished out six assists.
Their opponents, the EAC Generals, who were down 31, 72-41, had just made a furious 36-8 run in the final six minutes of the third period to cut the lead to just three, 80-77, by the end of the blitz.
"Big learning samin yun kasi 30 lamang namin naging tatlo ayun, kaya sa susunod siguro pag nangyari samin yun di na mangyayari samin yung pag lalamang kaming malaki," Jaycee said after the game.
Whether the twins do it again, it's up to them, but their great performance may warrant an encore.
"Maganda nilaro namin ngayon, siguro next game, ganoon ulit, [isusuot ulit namin] ito."
