From 2.3 points to 30 points, real quick - ask Emilio Aguinaldo College's JP Maguliano how.
Coming out of nowhere, EAC General JP Maguiliano sizzled with a double-double performance, 30 points and 17 rebounds, to help EAC etch its first win for the season.
This, from only averaging 2.3 points and 5.7 rebounds.
Maguliano may be an NCAA no-namer, but after he shared his story with reporters after his breakout game, apparently this breakout performance was a long time coming.
After studying in Adamson University for two years and never making the Soaring Falcons' cut, Maguliano tried his luck with EAC just across the street.
Thankfully, head coach Ariel Sison took a chance on him.
Sabi ko, mag-try out ako sa EAC, pag pinalad, magfo-focus ako dito," said the Isabela native.
"Thank God kasi pinagbigyan ako nila coach."
Maguliano follows in the footsteps of Jerome Garcia to be a former Adamson student who is now making a name for himself in EAC.
Seeing his Palarong Pambansa contemporary LJ Gonzales who is now an incoming FEU Tamaraw rookie also fueled him to chase his own basketball dreams.
Now that he was given the opportunity in NCAA with EAC, he vowed to seize the moment and contribute more in the next coming games.
Kasi sabi ng coach namin kailangan din manalo kasi goal naming makapasok ng final four," he said.
