Javee Mocon finished anything and everything Robert Bolick started in San Beda's fourth win in a row to start the season
Like it has always done, San Beda University is relying on various players in its title defense in the NCAA 94 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
One game it was Robert Bolick, one game it was Donald Tankoua, one game it was Clint Doliguez.
On Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre, it was Javee Mocon’s turn.
The graduating forward posted a powerful 22-point, 16-rebound double-double to go along with four assists and three steals.
Of course, head coach Boyet Fernandez sang the praises of his prized ward. “Javee played well today. Kulang na lang, mag-triple double e,” he told reporters post-game.
For Mocon, though, he was just making up for the bad game he put up just three days ago. “Actually, bounce back game ko lang ‘to since pangit laro ko last game,” he said, referring to his five-point performance in their victory versus Emilio Aguinaldo College.
The Gilas cadet went on to say that his scoring output wouldn’t have come to be if not for the masterful orchestrating of partner-in-crime Robert Bolick. “Yung credit, actually, kay Robert talaga e. He’s always looking for me, four our teammates,” he shared.
He then continued, “Robert is a really good player and he is the reason for this.”
